Why is CEW membership important to you?
I’ve been a CEW member for decades and I can’t think of another organization that creates more value for the individual, no matter what career stage they’re in.
What do you love most about working in the beauty Industry?
I love the beauty Industry because it’s structurally an attractive industry, it’s recession-resilient, innovation-driven, and the products themselves make people look good, feel good, and get more out of life. Most of all, I love the collaborative nature of the industry, the people are hugely supportive of one another. The beauty industry is this unique paradox where on the one hand brands fiercely compete in the marketplace, but the individuals have such respect and admiration for all participants.
What advice would you give someone who is inspired by your career and one day wants to be in a similar position?
I don’t believe success is linear, so I’d encourage someone to work hard in their roles, take chances, cultivate mentors, and go wherever the heat is. Personal and professional growth comes from pushing beyond your comfort zone.
