Since the beginning of lockdown, Spate has been monitoring search behavior to understand how lifestyle shifts have impacted consumer interest in beauty. In this report, Spate looks at search volume trends across skin care, hair care, fragrance and makeup during the month of September. Notably, consumer interest in skin care, hair care, and makeup is slowing down while fragrance is seeing positive growth compared to last year. Although growth in fragrance is mainly due to interest in home fragrance (ie. candles), perfume and cologne are now experiencing a pick up for the holidays.
