Suncare, Tanning Brands Ring in Summer
While most of the Top 10 skin care brands fell prey to a summer slump in June, sun care and tanning brands like Supergoop!, COOLA, and St. Tropez experienced notable month-over-month increases thanks to their inclusion in summer-themed content. Supergoop! powered $1.8M EMV, an 18% MoM growth that outpaced the Top 10’s average 4% decline. The brand’s hero Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 proved its top June product with $362.7k EMV from 62 influencers, marking a leap from its $121.4k EMV via 52 influencers last month.
Meanwhile, COOLA netted $1.2M EMV this month, enjoying a 30% MoM boost. The brand benefited from hype surrounding the inclusion of its Makeup Setting Spray Organic Sunscreen SPF 30 in FabFitFun’s Summer Box. The SPF-infused setting spray generated $187.8k EMV from 38 influencers as COOLA’s top offering, while mentions of “FabFitFun” collected $163.3k EMV.
In addition to promoting skin protection, influencers did not shy away from showing off their faux summer glow this month! St. Tropez netted $857.4k EMV, a 25% month-over-month improvement. Influencers credited the recently launched Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Mousse ($52.6k EMV) and Face Mist ($59.9k EMV) in their beachy content. The brand’s Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse ($63.9k EMV) also gained steam thanks to its feature in Boxycharm’s June box, with posts tagged #Boxycharm driving $71.4k EMV.
